Hi! I'm The Yarnificer, but most people call me Maya. I'm a 24 year old queer crochet artist living in East Tennessee. I began my crochet journey when I was about 20 and dealing with a fresh autoimmune disease diagnosis and worsening pre-existing health issues. I've always been a creative person and I needed something to keep my hands busy while I was bedridden, so I tried my hand at crochet and loved it. And here I am a few years later doing much better and crocheting more than ever! My health issues still affect me everyday, but crocheting has helped me stay creative despite them.



I take a lot of pride in my work and I try my best to create new and original designs. My first crochet pattern I ever made was my Kobold pattern. I wanted a plushie version of one of my DnD/BG3 characters but couldn't find a kobold pattern anywhere online, so I decided to make it myself! And speaking of that DnD character, he's that little orange guy in my logo. His name is Snot and he's an artificer who thinks his dad is Santa. (Yes, that one) And he's also where the name Yarnificer comes from! He is my son! Isn't he beautiful!

When I'm not crocheting, I'm usually playing video games, watching anime, or crappy horror movies on Tubi. General nerd stuff.
